There has been talk of making this film franchise into an expanded universe, much like Marvel Studios has managed. What makes the John Wick films so much fun is the fact they are not part of some overall arc/shared universe. I like the fact that Keanu is just mindlessly blowing people away left and right and there is no grander scheme than that.

JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2

Keanu Reeves is in his element in this film, clearly enjoying every scowl and whispered threat, and it works wonders. The first John Wick film was a complete surprise and the fight sequences really shone out. The action is tenfold this time, Keanu leaps from gunfight to gunfight swapping guns and taking lives in a beautiful dance of death. From the opening sequence we are treated to an explosive opening, setting what could be a record in opening sequence kill counts!

WE COVER THE GEEK CULTURE YOU LOVE.

The first John Wick film was one of those rare sleeper hits of 2014. A truly joyful smack in the face of adrenaline and pure chaotic action. So, in this age of sequel and franchise overload, can John Wick 2 really hold its own?

It’s fair to say audiences have been given one hell of a sequel and franchise overload of late. What’s great with this sequel/franchise entry is that it just sticks to what made the first film so damn good. Which in this case, is one heck of a load of beautifully choreographed gunfight sequences and violence galore.

Trust me, 2 minutes in; which will be about 40 kills, you will be feeling the exact same way. It’s insane action and it’s insanely fun. Roll on Chapter 3!
